This EVGA SR-X motherboard hasa wide coverage on all the voltage regulator modules (VRMs) with heatsinks, in order to keep things cool during overclocking.
It has 12 memory slots, 8 in two banks of four by the first processor socket and an additional 2 banks of 2 by the second, with a maximum ram support up to 96GB of DDR3 memory
7 PCI-Express 3.0 16x slots, which support both Nvidia’s SLI and AMD’s CrossfireX multi-GPU capabilities. Also include switches for disabling individual PCIe slots, provided for improved stability when overclocking with voltage read points.
Designed for use with Intel’s Sandy Bridge-EP Xeon processors, the board consumes high power. Both CPU sockets have 8 pin and a 6 pin power connector each, although 2 of these can be left disconnected if only a single CPU is used.
This EVGA SR-X motherboard has  6 SATA and 4 SAS ports, 2 eSATA ports, 6 USB 3.0 ports, and dual gigabit Ethernet ports. EVGA’s  EVBot tweaking tool will be fully supported by the board.
